Board and Train

Board and train is a service that we offer on rare occasions when having the dog in the owner's house poses a threat to the dog or another person or animal. These are typically cases of aggression, resource guarding, and reactivity to people, pets, or other animals. Outside of these concerns it is better that the owner is intimately involved in the training process through private training sessions. 

During a board and train the dog is given an opportunity to aclimate to the new environment and is managed and observed. During this time we bond with the dog through hand feeding, structured walks, and games. Once a relationship begins to develop we begin providing structure and training, allowing them to develop coping strategies to deal with stressors that are causing these behavioral problems and replacing unwanted learned behavior with proper behaviors. 

The length of a board and train can vary anywhere from 3 weeks to 3 months depending on the needs of the dog and the severity of the behaviors. Once the training is completed we work with the owner to train the owner through mandatory in home and in public private training sessions which continue until the owner is comfortable and confident in their abilities as well as the dogs. Board and Train sessions are $600/week and a minimum of three private follow up training sessions at $50/session.
